Our read

The Reveal X 4.0 drops the Pro’s no-glow flash, side screen and dual sensors, and keeps the parts that matter for most deer cameras: the external antenna, the same seven-band FCC filing with Band 14, and the same Reveal app and plans.

In TrailCamPro’s testing it was the quicker of the two, with a 0.29 s trigger and 90 ft of detection, and it ran 14.1 months on lithium AAs in their model. Transmission was about 40 seconds per photo, close to the Pro.

If you’re choosing between this and a Moultrie Edge 4, the difference is mostly the plan: Tactacam has a $5 Starter tier, while Moultrie’s cheapest plan is $9.99 a month. See the Reveal X 4.0 vs Edge 4 comparison.

Bottom line: The value pick in Tactacam’s lineup: same filing as the Pro, a faster measured trigger and longer battery life, for $129.99.
